Financial Awards from ASHRAE NB/PEI

Student Scholarships

The NB/PEI Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) funds seven financial awards for post-secondary students. Brief details below.

1. Glen Cowan Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility:  A high school graduate who is the immediate family member of a Chapter Member in good standing and who is enrolled in a University or Community College program. Consideration will also be given to students who are already enrolled and are continuing a university or community college program.

Selection Criteria: Academic results, financial need and extra-curricular activities.

Amount: $1,000

Application Process: Complete the Glen Cowan Scholarship Form and please submit to Contact.AshraeNBPEI@gmail.com by the deadline.

Deadline: October 31st

 

2. Dwight Scott Memorial ASHRAE Scholarship – University of New Brunswick 

Eligibility: A student from either New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island who is enrolled at the Fredericton campus in the Mechanical Engineering program and has completed at minimum of 120 credit hours.

Selection Criteria: Academic results

Amount: Variable

Funding: Endowment fund established by the NB/PEI Chapter

Application Process: The University of New Brunswick administers this scholarship on the Chapter’s behalf. Application information is available from the University.

 

3. NB/PEI ASHRAE Chapter Scholarship – Université de Moncton

Eligibility: A student from either New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island who has successfully completed his or her 4th year in the Mechanical Engineering program at the Université de Moncton

Selection Criteria: Academic results on HVAC and energy related courses

Amount: Variable

Funding: Endowment fund established by the NB/PEI Chapter

Application Process: The Université de Moncton administers this scholarship on the Chapter’s behalf. Application information is available from the university.

 

4. Emile R. Leblanc Memorial ASHRAE Scholarship 

Eligibility:  A student who has completed his or her first year and is pursuing second year in the Building Systems Engineering Technology program at the Fredericton Campus of the New Brunswick Community College. The student must also be enrolled as a Student Member of ASHRAE.

Selection Criteria: Financial need

Amount: $1000

Funding: NB/PEI Chapter

Application Process: Complete the Emile R. Leblanc Memorial Scholarship Form and please submit to Contact.AshraeNBPEI@gmail.com by the deadline.

 

5. NB/PEI ASHRAE Chapter Scholarship – NBCC Saint John

Eligibility: a student who has completed his or her first year and is in the second year of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Saint John Campus of the New Brunswick Community College. The student must also be enrolled as a Student Member of ASHRAE.

Selection Criteria: Financial need

Amount: $1000

Funding: NB/PEI Chapter

Application Process: Complete the ASHRAE NB-PEI Chapter Scholarship (NBCC SJ) Form and please submit to Contact.AshraeNBPEI@gmail.com by the deadline.

 

6. ASHRAE NB/PEI Chapter – Holland College No Action Required, scholarship administered by the college

Eligibility: a student in the second year of the HVAC program and having a minimum average of 80% in first year. Financial need will be a consideration.

Amount: $1000

Funding: NB/PEI Chapter

Application Process: Holland College administers this award on the Chapter’s behalf. Details are available from the Registrar’s Office.
